The time is NOW to act to defend the park!!
So far this month, UC has:
- Forced virtually everyone in the park to move, despite the promised Rodeway Inn housing filling up. Many people were pressured into short-term shelters under threat of arrest.
- Increased police harassment in the park, making many arrests and citations
- Moved in dozens of massive logs and woodchip piles to make the park inhospitable and prevent people from setting up tents
- Closed the People’s Park bathrooms
- Removed the park trash cans
We expect them to begin construction of dorms any day now. When the bulldozers, chainsaws, and fences come out - so do we!
For 50 years, every time the fences have gone up, they’ve come down! Together we can save the park!!!
Anybody can be a park defender! Everyone is needed! Get a group, come out, and stay safe!
